Orange County Community College
Commencement 2009 Checklist
Orange County
Community College commencement exercises will be held on Saturday, May 16,
2009 at 10:00 am. All graduates who are participating in the
Commencement Exercises are required to attend rehearsal on Friday,
May 15, 2009 at 9:00 am.
- Complete
and return the Graduation Application to Records &
Registration Office by the date specified on the application, in order
to be considered for graduation.
- Pay
the required $45 graduation fee (whether or not you participate) at the
Bursar’s Office.
- You should pay
this fee even if you are waiting for approval to graduate, but
reasonably expect to meet all requirements.
“If the
graduation fee is NOT PAID, then you HAVE NOT applied
for graduation.”
- If you pay the
fee, but don’t complete graduation requirements, the fee will be
applied when you do graduate at a later date. You must reapply
for graduation if you do not graduate at this time. Deadline dates for
applying for graduation for May, August and December are listed in the
College Catalog.
- Complete
and return the postcard that you receive from the Office
of the Vice President for Student Services asking whether you plan to
participate in the commencement ceremony. August and December graduates
can expect to receive this post card in February; May graduates should
receive it in April. Failure to respond via this postcard will result
in your being deleted from the list of commencement participants and may
result in your not being permitted to participate in the ceremony.
- You will be
receiving commencement information from the Office of the Vice President
for Student Services. These letters are stamped “Important Graduation
Information”. Save these letters as they contain
important information you need to have concerning the Commencement
Exercises.
Pick up
your cap and gown immediately following the mandatory
commencement rehearsal on May 15, 2009. Be prepared to tell us your height
(with shoes) when picking up your regalia.
There is no need to sign up for regalia in advance because we are now
using “Keeper” regalia. Following commencement you may keep the
cap, gown and tassel as a memento of your achievement.
