Return Policy

Textbooks:

1.)    New and Used printed Textbooks purchased for the current term may be returned or exchanged within 5 business days of the date of purchase through the second week of class for the fall and spring terms and through the first week of class for the summer sessions and 2^nd half term courses.  After that date all sales are final.  Courses of shorter duration and books for non-credit classes are non-returnable. 

2.)    You must bring in the original dated receipt for the current semester’s textbooks and your credit card if it was the form of payment.

3.)    The shrink-wrap packaging of your new textbook must be intact and unopened.

4.)    There can be no marks, highlighting, opened cd’s or opened access codes on your new textbook

5.)    You must bring your return or exchange to the bookstore during business hours before the end of the refund period. 

6.)    A copy of your class schedule or add/drop form are required for refunds or exchanges.

7.)    E-Books are non-returnable

8.)    Rental Textbooks agreements are non-refundable and non-reversible.  Full rental details are covered by the rental contract.  See store for details.

Non-Text Merchandise:

1.)    May be returned with 5 business days of purchase when the item is undamaged and the packaging is intact.

2.)    CD’s and DVD’s are only returnable in the event there is a defect and may only be exchanged title for title and within 72 hours of purchase.

3.)    Computers, computer supplies, electronics, software, flash drives, calculators, mat board, drafting and art papers, stethoscopes and special orders are not refundable.

4.)    Delivery fees are not refundable

Refunds are made corresponding to the way in which the original purchase was made with credit card purchases credited to the charging credit card and bookstore credit purchases credited back to bookstore credit accounts.  Purchases made by cash or check will be refunded by check within 15 business days.

The SUNY Orange Bookstore staff is the final decision maker in all returns/exchanges.

Defective items will be replaced if brought in within 90 days of purchase with original sales receipt.
